ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Ishaan Mishra. Thank you for taking the time to explore my work. I am a Creative Director and storyteller based in New York City with more than fifteen years shaping how brands, platforms, and cultural communities communicate through design, narrative systems, and emerging technology.

My practice focuses on the architecture of world building and the strategic use of creative tools to influence how audiences discover, participate in, and share stories across digital, experiential, and social environments.

Most recently, as Design and Creative Director for the Global Brand Studio of TikTok, I defined the creative North Star for a platform that influences culture at global scale. I built the design studio, shaped our visual and narrative systems, and developed content frameworks that empowered creators, partners, and marketers to innovate with confidence.

My work included generating thought leadership around visual storytelling, architecting cross platform creative experiences, and creating new content vehicles that challenged traditional definitions of media. I guided creative direction for consumer and business communications, developed advanced design tools, and collaborated with product, marketing, and research to activate stories across some of the largest cultural stages in the world, including Cannes, SXSW, CES, Advertising Week, and other international events. From designing TikTok Sans to leading motion languages, experiential activations, AR effects, editorial narratives, and spatial storytelling, I focused on creating systems that translated the platform’s identity into powerful creative experiences.

Before TikTok, I spent more than eight years at Bleacher Report and Turner Sports, where I helped define the modern voice of sports culture. I led experimentation across social, mobile, interactive, and long form formats, producing Emmy winning and CLIO winning work, including Game of Zones and other cultural series. I built design systems, interactive editorial experiences, AR executions, mobile storytelling formats, and content architectures that reached hundreds of millions of fans across platforms. I helped conceptualize Bleacher Report’s top-rated mobile app and contributed to its evolution into a definitive cultural and editorial hub for sports. My work centered on understanding fan psychology, the emotional logic of community, and the power of narrative to turn sports into culture. From Inside the NBA on television to the power of House of Highlights and Bleacher Report on social media, I helped pioneer various content touch points in a way relevant to the culture.

Alongside my career in global media and platform design, I co founded Forever Network, the creative studio behind Basketball Forever and Posterizes. These brands reach millions of fans every month and are built around a philosophy that merges visual identity, cultural insight, and emotional resonance. Basketball Forever grew into one of the largest independent sports media channels, and Posterizes became a pioneering digital art collective and magazine dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sports storytelling through experimental visual expression. These projects taught me the mechanics of identity formation, the structure of community-based experience design, and the importance of creating systems that evolve with audiences rather than speak at them.

At the core of my practice is a belief that design is both an expressive language and a technical discipline. I am fascinated by motion design, interactivity, spatial cognition, and the psychological triggers that shape user experience. I believe the future of content will emerge from the convergence of computation, narrative theory, and sensory design, where the role of the creative leader is to translate complexity into clarity while maintaining emotional depth. I approach every project with a focus on rigor, experimentation, and narrative precision, always seeking the connective thread that turns an idea into an ecosystem.

I have produced documentaries, branded films, experiential installations, mobile games, interactive campaigns, spatial activations, and cross-media content systems for global partners including Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, Google, Samsung, the NBA, the NFL, and many others. My goal is to create work that resonates, that carries cultural weight, and that builds enduring value for audiences and brands.

I believe that consistency, paired with imagination, leads to meaningful engagement and lasting impact.
